Faculty Development in Baba Farid College of Management & Technology organized by Nittta Through video conferencing

Baba Farid College of Management and Technology organized faculty development programme in association with NITTTR (NATIONAL INSTITUTION OF TECHNICAL TEACHERS TRAINING AND RESEARCH). This five day programme was conducted through video conferencing from 10th of June to 14th of june at Baba Farid College of Management and Technology. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. M.P.POONIA, Director, and NITTTR. During his address he stressed upon the need of the development of human Resources in India as India stood at 134th rank in Human Resources development index among the 187 nations. He told that the main problem in India is lack of skills among the students that leads to poor employability and that ultimately leads to larger number of unemployed people. The students are not imparted with the technical skills required for their overall development. He also told the faculty that the good teacher would have an ample number of books in his/ her library and with this he must possess the characteristics like loyalty, practice, knowledge and patience.

In this Five day long faculty development programme the renowned professors and Key Experts delivered seminars on interesting topics like; How to make an effective Question paper?, communication skills, Vocational education, Instructional planning etc. The most interesting session was of the last day when panel discussed on the employers expectations from the students while recruiting them , wherein the renowned personalities like Mr. Chandar Mohan (Padam Shree),Mr. Rajiv Gulati (Regional Officer AICTE), Dr (Prof) M.P. Poonia, (Director NITTTR), Dr. Trehan (CEO, PTU GIAN JYOTI CAMPUS FOR TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT & ENTRAPRENUERSHIP) participated in the discussion and discussed the major flaws in the technical education and stressed upon the ways to tackle that.

Dr. Manish Bansal, director principal BFCMT and the Coordinator of the workshop, told that we are motivated enough to arrange such faculty development sessions for our faculty so that more inputs can be provided to the students by our faculty in order to achieve our 100% placements for B.tech and MBA (batch 2013 onwards),promised by our institute.
